Absolutely! We accept checks and money orders for people who do not want to pay with a credit card. Simply Register with our course and then send us your payment. How long is the course?
Fortunately, each student has the ability to work at their own pace, so how long it takes to complete this course is up to you. You may take the course all in one day or you may spread it out over the course of several days or weeks.

What happens if I fail the Quizzes or Final exam?
First of all, nobody fails the course. It simply takes some student's more tries than others. If you do not pass a Quiz or Final Exam, the page will reload and your incorrect answers will appear in red. You may then re-take the Quiz or Final right away or review the previous Section and then take the Quiz or Final Exam over. You have as many tries as needed to pass the course.

Am I required to complete the course all at one time?
Only if you would like to. You have the ability to Log OUt and Log In anytime and as often as you want. Each time you Log In to the web site, you will continue where you last left off, so you never have to repeat any information you have already read.

What do I do if my Court is not approved?
Your Court still may grant special permission to complete ABetterTrafficSchool.com if requested. Contact your Court and request permission to use ABetterTrafficSchool.com to fulfill your traffic school requirement. If permission is given, please fax the approval letter to (415) 499-8145. Make sure the letter specifically references to ABetterTrafficSchool.com.

What if my County requires that I go somewhere to take the Final Exam and how do I know where to go?
Most Counties in California do not require you go anywhere to take your Final Exam. You may take your Final Exam online at home or at work or anywhere with an Internet accessible computer. However, there are a few Counties in California that do require you to go to an "Approved Testing Location" to take your Final Exam. To find out if your County requires you to take your Final Exam at an Approved Testing Location click here to "Enroll Now" to get more details and links to our Approved Testing Locations throughout California.

I have already paid the Court, do I have to pay for ABetterTrafficSchool.com as well?
You are still required to make a payment directly to ABetterTrafficSchool.com. The fees you have paid to the Court make you eligible to take traffic school and covers the cost of processing your request. This processing fee is completely independent from any and all fees required by ABetterTrafficSchool.com.

Can I get an extension for my Court required Due Date?
We have found most Courts do offer an extension or grace period for students who have not completed their traffic school requirement by the original Court assigned Due Date. You are responsible for contacting your Court to ask for an extension. We recommend you complete the course even if you have not received an extension.
Note: San Diego County does offer extensions, but typically charge an additional estimated $30-$35 for a 30 day extension. You must call the Court and pay the extra fee directly to the Court.

How long does it take to process my completion of the course?
Once you have successfully passed the Final Exam and complete the course, your Certificate of Completion will either be mailed directly to the court or to you, depending on which County you received your ticket in, within 24 hours via the delivery method that you have chosen. Once the court receives your Certificate of Completion, they will update your court record. For large courts, the dismissal process can take several days to weeks.

How do I continue with taking your course if I have Logged Out
Each time you complete one of the eight sections, your progress is saved. When you want to re-enter a course already in progress, simply go to our home page at www.ABetterTrafficSchool.com, enter your Driver License Number and click on the "Log In" button.

What does it mean when the Court says traffic school is approved with
restrictions?
Some California Court's approve traffic school with restrictions. Sonoma County allows traffic violators to attend ABetterTrafficSchool.com but with restrictions. They require the Student to contact the Court to ask for permission to attend traffic school on the Internet BEFORE the student registers and completes ABetterTrafficSchool.com.
If you have received a flyer from the Court with a list of traffic schools, then you are allowed to attend www.ABetterTrafficSchool.com.

What happens to my Certificate of Completion after I pass the Final Exam?
You will be able to Log In and Log Out of the course 24 hours a day from any Internet accessible computer using your Driver License Number to Log In. This way the course can be completed at your convenience and all your progress will be saved.
You are able to take the course for as long as it takes you to complete the course, even if it takes several months. However, make sure you pay attention to when your due date is to complete the course and turn in a Certificate of Completion so that you will be given credit by the court.
The following Counties below require that we submit the original Certificate of Completion to
them and not to the student, therefore, we will mail the Certificate
directly to the court via First Class U.S. mail. These counties require all traffic schools to use a third party company to administer the Final Exams. This Third Party company is an online Testing Center which will provide your Final Exam. The Final Exam is connected to our web site, so you do not need to go to another location or pay another fee. At the moment the following counties in California have this third party requirement:

The following Counties below require the student to submit the original Certificate to
the court, therefore, we will mail the Certificate

When will I receive my Certificate?
After you pass the Final Exam, your Certificate will be mailed out within 24 business hours. If you finish before 12pm (noon) PST your Certificate will be processed and mailed out the same business day. First Class Regular U.S. Mail typically takes 3 to 5 business days to arrive. Express Delivery options are available upon request.

What happens if I move and my mailing address is changed?
If you have moved and your mailing address has changed you should contact us immediately so we can update your mailing address in our account. If we mail you the Certificate of Completion to the mailing address you intially registered with and it is returned to us, then you will need to pay an additional fee of $5.00. This fee is for the additional time to change your your mailing address and to update your account. It also covers the additional supplies and postage needed to re-mail you the Certificate of Completion.

You may take the course all in one day or you may spread it out over the course of several days or weeks, depending on your Due Date.

If you do not pass a Quiz or Final Exam, the page will reload and your incorrect answers will appear in red. You may then re-take the Quiz right away or review the previous Section and then take the Quiz over. If you do not pass the Final Exam on your first attempt, you may retake the Final Exam as many times as you need, but you MUST wait 24 hours between each attempt at the Final Exam. You may not attempt to take the Final Exam more than once in a 24 hour period.
The Final Exam should take you between 15-20 minutes to complete. You must submit the Final Exam within 29 minutes of seeing the questions online or you may need to retake another Final Exam at a later time.

What happens to my Certificate of Completion after I pass the Final Exam? Once you have completed the course and passed the Quiz, your Certificate of Completion will be mailed to you the following business morning (unless otherwise specified). You will need to sign the Certificate and deliver it to the Court in person or by mail depending on what your Court requires and the Required Due Date.

How does the Virginia Driver Improvement Course work?
There are 8 Sections in our course. Each Section will have several pages to read. Each page will have a timer that requires the Student to stay on each page for 3.5 minutes. The timers are required by the Virginia DMV for ALL Internet Driver Improvement Clinics. After you start a Section of the course, we suggest for you to complete the Section by taking the Section Quiz. If, for some reason, you do not pass the Section Quiz on your first attempt, you will be allowed to see the questions you answered incorrectly and go back to review the Section as fast as you want without the timers. The timers are only active the first time through the Section. You must take the Section quiz for the timers to disappear.
After you successfully pass the 8 Sections, you will need to complete a Final Exam at an Approved Testing Location. While at an Approved Testing Location you will have NO more than 29 minutes to complete and submit your Final Exam. You will need to score 80% or better to pass. After you submit the Final Exam online, you will be given your results immediately on the next page.
The Final Exam should take you between 15-20 minutes to complete. You must submit the Final Exam within 29 minutes of seeing the questions online or you may need to retake another Final Exam at a later time.
When you pass, your Certificate of Completion will be printed and mailed the following business day and generally takes 3-5 business days to arrive at your mailing address by regular US mail. If you do not pass, you will be required to complete another Final Exam at least 24 hours later - no earlier.
If you are unsure about whether or not you will pass the Final Exam on your first try, we provide a Practice Final Exam online, which you may take before you go to an Approved Testing Location. We STRONGLY suggest for you to take as many Practice Final Exams as you want to better prepare you for the Final Exam at an Approved Testing Location.

If you fail the Final Exam at one of our Approved Testing Locations, you should go back to a computer and review the course and/or take more of the Practice Final Exams. We offer Practice Final Exams for a reason. We know there are 50 multiple choice questions on the Final Exam so we try to better assist you by providing Practice Final Exams. You may take as many Practice Final Exams as needed until you feel comfortable and ready to take the real Final Exam.
If you have taken the Final Exam at one of our Approved Testing Locations and failed you will NOT be eligible for a refund. This is because you have used an Approved Testing Location resource that is NOT refundable.
